Chicago’s Roosevelt University is issuing new ID cards that will grant students, staff and faculty access to the school’s Wabash and Auditorium buildings.
“The need for controlled access to the Wabash Building student residences and controlled access to the new Pharmacy College facilities in Schaumburg led to the adoption of the new smart ID cards,” said University Registrar Sheila Coffin.
The ID cards are equipped with a chip allowing access to buildings at security checkpoints. Old ID cards do not have this technology and are unusable. Deadline for getting the new card is Nov. 1.
“Students, faculty and staff without the new ID cards after Nov. 1 will only be able to access the building by checking in with the security personnel,” Coffin said.
